  • Lush green Bermuda grass lawn at sunrise with a sprinkler running and a tuna can marker.
    Home & GardenQuick Tip

Keep Bermuda grass green through summer with one deep watering a week

Bermuda grass wants one inch of water per week, delivered in one or two long sessions, not daily light sprinkles. Set out an empty tuna can next to your sprinkler and run the water until the can fills to one inch (usually 30–45 minutes). Water early in the morning (before 9 a.m.) so the blades dry by dusk. Stop watering when daytime highs drop below 70°F in the fall.
